Q. I can’t login to my Student Technology accounts. What do I need to do?
First, let’s make sure you are using the correct web browser. Our Student Technology sites run best on Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, or Apple Safari web browsers. You may also want to try clearing your internet history/cache and seeing if that fixes the issue.
(Just as a reminder, to login to your student email account, go to http://www.centralgatech.edu/ and click on the Student Email tab at the top of the page. You must type in your complete student email, including the @student.centralgatech.edu part in order to login to your email account.)
If you are still having issues, you should check that you are using the correct login information. You can use the Student Portal to lookup your Student ID Number, Username, and Email Address. Go to https://portal.centralgatech.edu/index.php and click Forgot Student ID Number, Username, or Email Address? under the green Login button. Fill in all the information on the next page and then click the green Lookup! Button.
If that still doesn’t work, you can try resetting your password. To reset your password, go to the Student Portal at https://portal.centralgatech.edu and click Reset Password? (under the green login button). On the next page, enter the requested information in each field. (You will need your unique CGTC student ID number, last name, birthday, zip code, and the last four digits of your social security number. Each of these items MUST EXACTLY MATCH the information that we have on file for you), then click the Reset Password button to reset your password. The screen will then show a text box that says: “Your password has been reset! Your username is USERNAME and your password is PASSWORD.” (This is where you will see what the system reset your password to.) This will reset your password for your CGTC email account, BannerWeb, the Student Portal, Blackboard, and for logging into computers on campus.
After you reset your password, you need to change it. To change all of your account passwords to a password of your choice, log into the Student Portal with your reset password and your Student Username. Next, click the tab Change Network Password in the top left-hand corner of the page. Follow the instructions on that page, and all of your passwords will be changed.
