How can I find out which textbooks I need?

Answer

You can find out which textbooks you will need by reading over your course syllabus or by searching the Bookstore website.

To search for textbooks on the Bookstore website, you can search by keyword, or enter your course information to view your course materials. Just select the term, department, and course number/instructor for each of your courses.

If you see the following message, your course materials will be available digitally through the BibliU platform. These digital materials are supplied for a flat fee per textbook/courseware, and are automatically available to students at the start of each semester (unless you choose to opt out). You can access BibliU from Blackboard or the BibliU tile located on your Single Sign-On dashboard.

the following text: "Equitable Access. EA-DAY 1 Access. No action is required to purchase. Materials for this class are provided as part of the Equitable Access program."

If you see that one of your textbooks is labeled OER-OPEN EDUCATIONAL RESOURCE CONTENT, your textbook is available online for free, and a link will be provided by your instructor. (These may or may not be included in the BibliU platform.)

If you see the following message when you search for a textbook, you should check your course syllabus to see if any materials are required for your course, or ask your instructor.

Textbooks and courseware that include the option to purchase, like the example below, will need to be purchased either from the CGTC Bookstore or another vendor. (These will not be included in the BibliU platform.)

If you are a Dual Enrollment student, you will need to contact your High School Coordinator to find out how you can obtain access to any non-OER materials that are not included in BibliU.
