What are the Admissions testing requirements?

Answer

COVID-19 Operations Policy:

At this time, placement testing has been suspended until further notice. The testing requirement has been waived for the admission process. The College has developed alternate measures for acceptance and placement.

Non-Covid-19 Regular Operations Policy:

CGTC does not have required SAT scores for Admissions.

CGTC uses the ACCUPLACER® placement test, which measures knowledge in math, reading, and writing. The placement test does not determine if an individual can attend CGTC and it is not pass or fail; it simply helps us place students in the college classes that meet their skill level.

The ACCUPLACER® test consists of five sections: Reading; Writing; Arithmetic; Quantitative Reasoning, Algebra, and Statistics; and Advanced Algebra and Functions.

However, if you have already taken the ASSET, COMPASS, ACCUPLACER®, SAT, or ACT, you can provide a copy of your scores (if taken within the past five years) and you may be exempt from having to take the ACCUPLACER® placement test.
