Why can't we not put brackets around infinite?
Answer
There are several reasons why we cannot put brackets around an infinite. For instance, infinity is a concept and not a number meaning that this can go on and on with no end insight so we can't contain it. Another reason is brackets represents an endpoint to real numbers and what belongs in the set. Therefore, when using interval notation always use a parentheses when you know infinite will be involved in your answer.
