What is a DIMM?

Answer

A DIMM is a circuit board holding RAM. It holds RAM chips that plugs directly into a computer motherboard. This circuit provides a 64 bit data path to the processor more efficient then a 32 bit SIMM style. DIMM uses a separate electronical contact on the front and back edges. This is used for modern DDR4 and DDR5 desktop variants using 288 pins.
