How do I set up a linear proportion?
Answer
There are four steps into setting up a linear proportion. First, you would write the known ratio which is the dosage strength from the drug label. Second, you then write the unknown ratio which would be the ordered dose and the unknown amount to administer which is written "X". Third, would be to check the units of measurements in which both ratios must contain the same two units in the same order. If the units are not the same a conversion must be done. Lastly you would multiply the means and the extremes.
