What is a ratio?

A ratio is comparing two numbers that have a relationship. In nursing practice there are many numbers that related to each other. A ratio can represent the exact number of patients, to dedicate safe work loads and driving patient safety. Ratios also help when doing proportions to calculate medical dosages by finding the unknown ratio.
