MitM stands for "Man in the middle" attack. This type of cyber threat is where an attacker intercepts, relays and alters communication between two parties who are believed to be talking to each other. The goal for the attacker is to steal sensitive information like login credentials, personal and financial data. This can be avoided by not using public wi-fi, verifying HTTPS(Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure) and using a VPN(Virtual Private Network).
