What is a DDos Attack?

A DDos attack is a malicious attempt to disrupt a website or network by overwhelming it with fake internet traffic. An attacker can do this by using a botnet a network of thousands of infected computers or smart devices to flood the target. Due to it looking similar to real user traffic the victims server has difficulty between a legitimate visitor or a hackers attack.
