What happens when I divide a negative on both sides of an inequality?
Answer
When you divide a negative on both sides on in inequality. You change the inequality sign. For example if I have less than and divide by a negative the sign now becomes greater than. This also applies for less than or equal to and greater than or equal to. Why this happens is that to ensure the statement of the inequality is a true statement.
