How do I calculate an IP address?
Answer
In order to calculate an IP address you would first convert to binary. Binary numbers only consist of 1's and 0's. You would have to convert the IP address and subnet mask into a 32 bit binary format. Once you do that next would be to find the Network address and determine the host bits by subtracting the CIDR prefix from 32. Next you would calculate the total hosts and then calculate the usable host. Lastly when you calculated both hosts you would then have to find the broadcast address and define the usable range.
