What does a Solid State Drive do?

Answer

A solid state drive or SSD is used to help store data on flash memory than a spinning magnetic disk(HDD). Since it uses flash memory they can access data in an instant and reducing lag when opening files and running applications. An SDD has no moving parts like spinning disks making them more resistant to drops, shocks, and wear and tear. SDD's use less power that can lead to better batter life for devices like laptops.
