What's the difference between an equation and inequality?

Answer

An equation uses only and equal sign and finding one solution. On the other hand inequalities offer an infinite range of solutions than an equation. Equations and inequalities share similarities on how they are solved by getting a variable by itself. One of the key differences is when it comes to graphing when you graph equations you just graph the intercepts. Whereas with inequalities you graph the intercepts and shade above or below depending on the inequality sign and question. Another difference is that when working out a inequality when you multiply or divide a negative on both sides you change the inequality sign.
