What are inverse operations?

Answer

The meaning of inverse operation is doing the opposite of a sign. For example the opposite of addition is subtraction. Therefore, the opposite of multiplication is division. Inverse operations are mostly used in one and two step equations. To solve for one step equations you would do the opposite of add/subtract or multiply/divide. Where as with two step equations it is mostly doing adding or subtracting first then multiply or divide. It ultimately depends on the equation given in the problem.
