What are expressions called based on the number of terms?
Answer
The term for number of terms in an expression/equation are called polynomials. This is a term that can help classify an expression based on the number of terms. These terms have their own names like monomial, binomial and trinomial. Lets break down these terms starting with monomial. Monomial is a term where there is only one term in the expression like 2, 2x and 5. Next, we have binomial which there are two terms in the expression. Then we have trinomial which are there are three terms in the expression. Lastly we have polynomial in which there are more than three terms in the given expression.
