What is the difference between a mixed and improper fraction?
Answer
A mixed number is where there is a whole number than a fraction like for example 1 1/2. On the other hand there is an improper fraction where the numerator is bigger than the denominator. For example there could be a fraction like 5/6, 7/2, and 5/4, etc. Now how can we go from mixed to improper fraction you can do a method called the "clock it method". How to use this method is when you have a mixed number and you would like to convert it into a improper fraction. To do this you would multiply the denominator by the whole number then add that number to the numerator to complete the method. If you want to go from improper to mixed number would do top inside divided by the bottom from there you can turn it into a mixed number.
