How do I combine like terms?

Answer

Combining like terms is a way of simplifying an expression or an equation. This can be achieved by find a group of numbers with the same variable and adding or subtracting them together.

Examples:

2x+4x= 6x

5z +5z=10z

3x+5y= 3x +5y (Note that the variables are different therefore you cannot combine them.)
