How do I configure a router?
Answer
In order to configure your router successfully. You must connect the router to your modem and from there connect the router to your computer via ethernet cable. In order to connect it correctly it will be one of the LAN ports for the router for the ethernet cable to connect correctly. From there on your computer you type in the routers IP address (Ex:192.168.2.1) into the address bar to pull up the routers settings page. Once you have it pulled up you would have to login which the default username and password would attached to the router. Now once we are logged in we can configure your network. First you can change your password to anything you want however, it has to be a strong password that includes the following: uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters(!,?,@,$,#). Once you have changed your password to your liking you would next have to set up the WIFI network. This can be done by finding the wireless or "WI-FI settings and from there you can change the routers WIFI name along with a strong password in order for others to connect to your network. Lastly once you got that sorted out you can choose between WPA2 or WPA 3 encryption if available for more secure options for the router. Finally you can save your settings and in order to be sure you correctly configured it you may have to restart your router.
