How do you write the equation of a line given the slope and the y-intercept?

Answer

The slope-intercept form of an equation is y = mx + b, where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept.  If your are given those two values, you just substitute them into this equation.  Say, if the slope is 2 and the y-intercept is 5, then the equation of that line would be y = 2x + 5.
