What does PEMDAS mean in math?
Answer
PEMDAS is a helpful acronym that explains the proper order of operations in math problems. Sometimes, math problems may contain multiple operations all in one (multiplication, addition, subtraction, division, etc.), and the proper order of these steps must be carefully taken.
PEMDAS helps us remember the proper order to start with. You can remember PEMDAS using the saying "Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally".
PEMDAS stands for:
1. Parenthesis
2. Exponents
3. Multiplication
4. Division
5. Addition
6. Subtraction
This is the proper order of operations you should perform on a math problem.
